Dean’s fear of flying can’t have originated in “Phantom Traveler”, if he knew he had it. There must have been at least one experience that informed him of his phobia. I felt like exploring one of those instances, because angst. Also includes John being an unintentionally poor father, because how well do you think he’d handle his son having a panic attack 20,000 feet off the ground? (Fun fact: I wrote the majority of this sitting in the Toronto airport and nearly missed my second flight because of it. Finished the rest on the plane home. I wonder where my inspiration came from?)
John didn’t understand it. This wasn’t the first time they’d taken a plane and Dean had never kicked up a fuss before. He had a battle situation on his hands in Wyoming and three other hunters waiting on him to get there right the hell now, and what he was doing was attempting to coax a petulant nine year old down a jetway.
